Erasmus+ is a high-profile EU program[H1] [NS2] that supports actions in the fields of education, training, youth and sport in Europe. A number of committed, persevering lecturers from the universities of Grenoble and York played a key role in the program’s early days.
UGA actively encourages its staff to teach or train in other countries. To this end, two calls for applications take place each year by the International and External Affairs, in conjunction with the human resources department. Each year some fifty UGA staff members take advantage of teaching and staff training mobility opportunities through the Erasmus+ program.

The Erasmus+ Charter
The Erasmus+ Charter awarded reflects our university’s commitment to uphold the three fundamental principles of the program:- Fully adhere to the principles of non-discrimination and ensure equal access and opportunities to mobile participants from all backgrounds.
- Ensure full recognition for activities carried out by students during their mobility by awarding credits (ECTS or compatible system).
- Guarantee equality of treatment and services between students and staff at the institution and those coming in through mobility opportunities, without charging fees to incoming students on the Erasmus+ exchange program.
Promoting European mobility
UGA has 507 partner institutions across Europe, and Erasmus+ study mobility accounts for 70% of our outgoing mobility (up 15% compared with 2016) and 65% of our incoming mobility. Since 2016, 2,000 UGA students have taken part in study mobility in other European countries through the Erasmus+ program, and 1,565 students have come to UGA.UGA actively encourages its staff to teach or train in other countries. International mobility credits (MIC) outside Europe:
The objective of this scheme is to strengthen academic collaboration with countries outside the EU by developing student mobility, teaching and training for faculty and staff.Currently, UGA has obtained MIC funding for the following projects:
